Travel Warnings against Brazil, Other Countries as FG Panics over Indian Covid Strain

Posted by JUSTOURS                                    The Federal Government has released a latest travel advisory affecting three countries where Nigerians frequently visit. This is perhaps government’s response to citizens who called the government out for action since the second wave of Covid-19 started devastating countries like India and Brazil. Government finally announced a ban on passengers travelling into Nigeria from India, Turkey and Brazil, recently. These countries are currently the Global Epicenters of the coronavirus pandemic.
India recorded Covid19 positive numbers of 400,000 persons. India, as you know, is a popular medical tourism destination for Nigerians. There are lots of Indians living and working in Nigeria, the major construction works at Dangote refinery and the Deep Sea Ports have lots of Indian workers. In a positive light, citizens commended the federal government for the timely intervention. Many said “The Federal Government has done well by blocking India.” As one put it, ” Nigeria didn’t foot drag like in the case of United Kingdom last year. You remember how travellers from the UK spread Covid-19 before the lockdown last year.” Another added that ” It is the same way Nigeria would have welcomed a new wave of the pandemic, if government didn’t place this ban when it did.”
Last year after the outbreak of coronavirus in Europe, Nigerians demanded the closure of our borders to curtail spread. Sadly, it was not done until an Italian arrived with the virus in Lagos. Government eventually closed the airports in a bid to control the raging Coronavirus cases at the time.                       Contact us:
