The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) in collaboration with the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has conducted online medical examination for the selection of medical personnel that would participate in this year’s pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Greece and Rome.
Speaking during the medical examination, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam, who was represented by the Director of Operations, Rev. Amos Yohanna said that preparations for this year pilgrimage exercise are in top gear.
He explained that the medical examination was organised for the selection of qualified medical personnel that would give medical care to Christian pilgrims during this year’s pilgrimage. “The wellbeing of our pilgrims is our topmost priority,” he said.
Yohanna explained that the Commission would ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process. For him, the only the best candidates from the thirty-six states of the country including FCT will be “selected and the medical examination will strictly be based on merit.”
He further explained that the successful candidates would embark on a 3-day orientation to enlighten them on their duties and the expectation of the Commission during the pilgrimage exercise.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Federal Medical Committee Dr. David Atuwo admonished the participants to be of good behaviour during the exam process. He encouraged them to put on their best in best. “Those who will be successful will be given proper orientation on the etiquettes of the profession.”
