Nassarawa, NATOP to Tie-up for Cultural Festival

Nassarawa State government is considering working closely with the organised tour operators in the country, Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) to give its cultural festival a push. President, NATOP, Hajia Bilkisu Abdul assured that NATOP will help promote Nassarawa saying that it will yield great result. She added that “We shall not disappoint you. My members are capable.”
Nassarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule had earlier invited Abdul to Nassarawa State capital, Lafia to brief her on the plans of the state to host an annual cultural festival in the state. The governor said he was impressed with what NATOP is doing and especially the news he has been reading about her work as NATOP President.
‘I want to join NATOP so I can drive tourism in my state’, Sule was quoted to have said. He therefore invited the President to bring NATOP members to meet with the state Commissioner of Tourism to arrange a tour of Nassarawa State for NATOP members.
The Governor asked her to bring her BOT members and Executives. An elated Hajia thanked the Governor for a wonderful reception given to her and promised to come back with a bigger team of the best tourism experts in the land.
NATOP led by Abdul had had a rare engagements with the National Park Services, recently . She was also hosted by the Chairman, House Committee on Tourism Senator Rochas Okorocha at the National Assembly. NATOP was also stormed the cultural town of Ife, Osun State where the members were hosted by the royal father, Ooni of Ife during its annual general meeting (AGM) recently.
