Meghan/Harry’s Oprah Interview: Britain’s Queen Elizabeth Wants to Appoint ‘Diversity Czar’

  • Prince William said the Royal family is ‘very much not’ racist

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth is considering hiring a diversity czar for the sole purpose of reprising the royal family’s process of ‘seeking independent views’ following the recent backlash after Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview.

The News International quoted a report by a source close to the Mail on Sunday and it reads, “This is an issue which has been taken very seriously across the Households.”

“We have the policies, procedures and programs in place but we haven’t seen the progress we would like and accept more needs to be done. We can always improve.

“We are not afraid to look at new ways of approaching it. The work to do this has been under way for some time now and comes with the full support of the family.”

Meanwhile, Prince William had defended the monarchy after accusations from Harry and Meghan. The Duke of Cambridge defended the Royal family against accusation of racism made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying: “We’re very much not a racist family.”

Prince William said he had not yet spoken to his brother since Harry and Meghan aired accusations against the family and institution in an interview with Oprah Winfrey broadcast in the US penultimate Sunday.

William’s statement is the first public personal comment by any member of the royal family since the allegations, and gives an insight into the hurt that members of the family are understood to feel over the matter.
