COVID-9: A Transport Association, ALBON Seeks Govt Intervention


Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria (ALBON) has on Tuesday urged the Federal Government to help facilitate loan facilities and other palliatives for its members saying that the loan facilities and palliatives will assist members overcome economic challenges associated with border closure, lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis.
Briefing journalists in Onitsha, Anambra State, ALBON’s National Task Force Chairman, Joseph Ejiofor and Anambra State Task Force Chairman Uchenna Maduakor explained that members have lost over N2 billion ad “we are still counting losses as the lockdown and border closure persist.“
Ejiofor said that “Most members find it difficult to pay salaries and feed their families because since March 2020 their buses in Nigeria and in other Africans countries were parked in garages without doing any business.”
