COVID-19:  As UK Banned Travellers from 11 African Countries…

Posted by JUSTOURS

The United Kingdom (UK) has banned travellers from 11 African countries from entering England due to a new COVID-19 strain identified in South Africa. The 11 countries include Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Malawi, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Angola, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Eswatini.

Some eagle-eyed travel industry insiders took to the social media to point out what they thought was an error.

One Social media user said: “Africans were banned from entering England.  Interestingly, South Africa isn’t among. Lol.”

Another said: The new COVID-19 strain was first discovered in the UK  three  weeks ago, but Africa ‘refused’ to ban flights from the UK..  Now, UK has banned flights from Africa.”

The thoughts shared suggest that the industry was taken by surprise.

“Have things gone political?” they asked.
