President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Rev.Yakubu Pam as Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) on July 4, 2020. NCPC is a National Regulatory body for Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria, the only apex Christian pilgrimage Agency that has direct link with the Presidency.
Pam’s appointment took effect from June 26, 2020 but he formally assumed office at the corporate headquarters of NCPC on July 7, 2020.
He is said to be ‘A quintessential leader, reconciliator par excellence, teacher, consummate administrator, advocate for peace, a detribalized Nigerian and above all, a leader in the vineyard of God,” who has come to NCPC at “a time divinely ordained by God.”
Until his appointment as the third substantive Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Rev. Pam held sway as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for the 19 Northern States and Abuja, having been elected into the position since 2016.
He took over from Mrs. Esther whose tenure was brief after she took over from the former Executive Secretary, Rev Tor Ujah, removed from the position last year for alleged misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.
According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari urged the Executive Secretary NCPC to sustain his reconciliatory pre-disposition in his new position.
