The new Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam, has said he will rid the NCPC of corruption practices in order to redeem the image of the commission.
Pam, who spoke at a Special Thanksgiving Service organised in his honour by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abuja, recently said that he will abide by the Act that established the NCPC which creates orderliness and commitment to service.
“I have carefully studied the Act that established the NCPC and one striking provision is that the executive secretary is given recognition as the Chief Accounting Officer of the commission while every other staff of the agency is a support staff of the Executive Secretary.”
Pam was appointed Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 4, 2020. NCPC, a national regulatory body for Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria, the only apex Christian pilgrimage agency that has direct link with the Presidency, had an issue with leadership in the past years.
He was described as “A quintessential leader, reconciliator par excellence, teacher, consummate administrator, advocate for peace, a detribalized Nigerian and above all, a leader in the vineyard of God who has come to NCPC at a time divinely ordained by God.”
