Nigerian airlines will be able to fly directly from Nigeria to Tel Aviv, Israel soon. The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam, hinted this to Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace Airlines, Chief Allen Onyema who visited him recently.
Pam said talks on the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) is in progress and once BASA is signed, between Israel and Nigeria, the airlines would commence operations as that carriers are critical stakeholders in pilgrimage operations.
Rev. Pam described Air Peace Airlines as one of the most efficient private airlines in Nigeria. He thanked Onyema for his desire to partner with the Commission. “We are happy to partner with you in the airlift of Nigerian Pilgrims to the Holy land,” he said.
Earlier, the Chief Onyema commended the NCPC boss for his track record of excellence over the years. He described Pam as a role model for the youth, and embodiment of true nationalism.
Onyema explained that he was in the Commission to explore ways of collaboration in order to make Nigerian pilgrims come closer to God by participating in the airlift of pilgrims in the Holy land.
He affirmed that the Israeli government is working on having the Air Peace Airlines have direct flight to Israel.
“I support pilgrimage; it brings you closer to God.” Adding: “Pilgrimage is something we support, we are going to make it easy”.
The NCPC Boss had intimated his guest that the Commission’s pilgrimage programmes includes Easter Pilgrimage and general pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Greece and Rome.
