Operator, Ngoka Appointed DG Imo Tourism Board

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Zigona Travels and Tours Limited, Mrs. Ngozi Ngoka, has been appointed the director general of the reconstituted Imo Tourism Board by the Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha. Ihedioha said the appointment is in line with his campaign promise to focus on tourism as one of the economic planks for rebuilding the state.
Other members of the board include Charles Anudu as chairman, Chief CMC. Onuoha, Paul Onwuanibe, Chidi Okoro and Professor A.B.C. Duruaku. The governor charged the board members to bring to bear their wealth of experience and professionalism towards the successful execution of the REBUILD-IMO project.
Ngoka, who is also to serve as the secretary of the board, is a travel professional, with vast knowledge and years of experience in travel business. She is the vice president of the South East zone of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN); member of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), serving over the years in different positions, such as the pioneer chairperson of the Education and Training Committee, national publicity secretary, financial secretary and chair of the AGM Committee.
Ngoka is the founder and board of trustee member of Touristry Consultants Forum of Nigeria and a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD). Ngoka has also relentlessly promoted Imo State, bringing in tour operators and other stakeholders and tourists to the zone. With her new position, she is expected to further build on the gains of her reign over the years.
